Courses Offered

Sciences- Our science program will provide hands-on labs that fuel student excitement for discovery, while also encouraging them to embrace the curiosity-driven mindset of a scientist, fostering critical thinking and problem-solving skills. Students will gain a deeper understanding of scientific concepts and develop the confidence to approach complex challenges with ingenuity and creativity.

Math- Our math program, led by passionate instructors with a deep love for mathematics, instills strong foundational knowledge, fosters deep understanding, and encourages practical applications, ensuring students excel in both theory and real-world contexts.

Math placement at SOAR Academy is based on a variety of assessments, to include but not limited to: Diagnostic Test Scores, Placement test and previous transcript grades.

In our inaugural year, Algebra II will be taught during the Optional elective time slot. These students will begin the day at 10:30am and end at 4:30pm.

World Languages- Spanish and French classes will be offered. World language courses will introduce the use of the language in the classroom both in written and oral communication. As an integral part of their study, students will be exposed to numerous aspects of the culture including the history, art, literature, foods, holidays, and traditions related to the language they are studying.  The benefits of studying another language extend far beyond the knowledge of the language.

Electives- Our semester-long elective courses offer engaging experiences tailored to diverse interests, providing students with opportunities to delve deeply into subjects they're excited about while gaining valuable skills.

  • Forensic Science- This course will introduce the student to the many different disciplines in forensic science, including: crime scene investigation, finger printing, trace evidence, and DNA. There will be hands-on learning and experiments throughout the course.

  • Robotics- Students will explore the exciting world of robotics. Through hands-on activities and collaborative projects, members will learn fundamental concepts in robotics, problem-solving skills, and teamwork, igniting their passion for innovation and technology.

  • Entrepreneurship and Leadership- Students will explore the fundamentals of entrepreneurship. Through interactive lessons and real-world projects, including managing the school's spirit shop, students will develop essential skills in market analysis, financial planning, and marketing strategies. Additionally, students will have the opportunity to develop their own business ideas and receive guidance and mentorship. Students will also take charge of planning social activities while also developing character and leadership skills through guest speaker sessions. Mentors will curate book club selections focused on character and leadership, fostering discussions that inspire growth, alongside engaging in service projects to positively impact our community.

  • International Relations (High School Students Only)- This course examines the historical, political, cultural, and geographic dimensions of U.S. international relations. It will examine past and present U.S. policies, define international relations theories and concepts, and emphasize ”how and why” the U.S. partners with other countries to contribute to global defense and security objectives. It will trace the strategic, operational, and tactical methods and means by which the U.S. encourages and enables foreign partners to achieve bilateral or multilateral objectives and goals.

  • Fundamentals of Engineering (High School Students Only)- Fundamentals of Engineering” applies various physics principles to solve engineering problems across a variety of different engineering disciplines. It will teach students to analyze a problem and logically solve it, using the many engineering tools that will be learned.
