IFT - Powered
The IFT Powered Flight Training program offers students ages 14 and up the opportunity to train with FAA-certified flight instructors at their local flight school. This program provides hands-on flight experience alongside structured ground school instruction, setting students on the path toward earning their Private Pilot Certificate.
Flight Lessons with Certified Instructors
Students enrolled in this course will complete real-world flight training with experienced FAA-certified flight instructors. Lessons take place at local flight schools, allowing students to log valuable flight hours while developing the skills needed to pilot powered aircraft.
FAA Ground School & Private Pilot Written Exam Prep
In addition to flight training, students will attend weekly FAA ground school classes designed to prepare them for the FAA Private Pilot Written Exam. This structured curriculum covers:
Aerodynamics and aircraft systems
Navigation and flight planning
Weather and airspace regulations
FAA rules and procedures
Over the Horizon Classes
Beyond technical training, students will participate in weekly "Over the Horizon" classes, where aviation professionals and guest speakers share their expertise, career insights, and flight experiences. These sessions provide invaluable industry knowledge and inspiration for aspiring pilots. Students can attend virtually or in-person at the Colorado Military Academy.
