Fledglings

FleDglings

In this course, students ages 6-8 years old will look at the history and future of Aviation and Space Exploration.  They will learn about the Wright Brothers and their perseverance in flight to humanity's quest to conquer the skies and the vast expanse of space.  Students will dabble in rocketry, aircraft, and birds in flight.  As we venture into the latter half of the course, the focus shifts to weather, magnets, cave geology, and nature.

Through a combination of guest speakers, nature studies, hands-on activities, and field trips, students will grow in their excitement for science all around them.  Part of the joy of learning about these topics is that students will get to take home books on topics learned that they can keep and enjoy for years to come.

The course will also include mathematics where students will practice numbers up to 100, exploring essential concepts such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, and skip counting. Through interactive lessons, hands-on activities, and games, students will develop a strong numerical sense, enabling them to count, compare, and manipulate numbers with confidence.

North Gate- classes meet Thursdays from 9:00-3:00 pm throughout the school year.
