Rural STEAM Program
Our Rural STEAM Program for ages 6-18 brings the excitement of STEM and aviation to rural Colorado, combining elements of the Young Falcons and 1A programs. Designed to provide hands-on learning and real-world exposure, this program immerses students in interactive workshops, expert-led sessions, and immersive field experiences that spark curiosity and innovation.
Students are divided by age to ensure lessons and activities are developmentally appropriate, fostering engagement at every level. Younger participants explore foundational STEM concepts through hands-on projects, while older students take a deeper dive into advanced topics like aerodynamics, robotics, and aviation fundamentals. Activities range from building and launching rockets to investigating space food science, exploring electromagnetism, and studying flight principles.
Beyond the classroom, students will participate in exciting field trips to locations such as United States Air Force Academy, iFLY, the Challenger Learning Center, and Cave of the Winds, providing immersive, real-world learning experiences. They will also interact with aerospace professionals, engineers, and emergency responders, gaining valuable insight into future career paths.
This program is designed to inspire a love for STEM, provide meaningful exposure to aerospace, and equip students with critical thinking and problem-solving skills. By making advanced STEM education accessible to students in rural communities, Falcon AeroLab’s Rural STEAM Program empowers the next generation of scientists, engineers, and aviation enthusiasts.
Currently offered in Buena Vista, Burlington, Fort Morgan, Fremont, Lamar, and La Junta.
