MedLab
MedLab will offer students, ages 14 and up, a hands-on learning experience in the healthcare related fields through labs, field trips, special speakers and in-class content. This class will start with a brief history of medicine and anatomy to create a common language. We will introduce a wide variety of disciplines from traditional medicine and holistic care including Physical Therapy, Dentistry, and Radiology, and Animal-Assisted Therapy. There will be an overarching development in skills, including taking vitals, medical terminology (with basic Latin roots that demystify medical terminology), and nutrition along with a comparison of naturopathic methodology throughout the program. Students will be given the opportunity to earn Basic LifeSaving and First Aid certifications during this 1A course, along with many hands-on labs such as blood typing, suturing, and dissection. This course is designed to explore the wide variety of careers and opportunities within the healthcare industry.
Falcon- classes meet Tuesdays from 9:30-3:30 pm throughout the school year.
