Intro to Aerospace Studies is a project-based STEM program for students 12-16 years old, offering unique opportunities to experience the excitement of aviation and aerospace through hands-on labs and activities.

Workshops
Build/Fly/Repair/fly their own RC Aircraft and a Drone. Students keep the aircraft they build!
Falcon- classes meet on either Wednesdays or Thursdays from 9:30 am-3:30 pm throughout the school year.
Colorado Springs - classes meet on Fridays from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm throughout the school year.
Milliken- classes meet the first three Fridays of each month from 8:00am-2:00pm throughout the school year.
Woodland Park- classes meet on Wednesdays from 9:30-3:30 pm throughout the school year.
Castle Rock- classes meet Tuesdays from 9:30-3:30 pm throughout the school year.
Parker- classes meet Tuesdays from 9:30-3:30 pm throughout the school year.

INTRO TO AEROSPACE STUDIES- CAÑON CITY & SALIDA
Our course will provide the opportunity for students ages 10-16 yrs to participate in engaging lessons, hands-on STEM projects, group activities and field trips about topics relevant to Aviation and Aerospace fields. Included in AeroLab is one powered aircraft flight for each student who desires to fly.
Topics and trips this year will include:
Moon exploration and a Challenger Learning Center “Lunar Quest” mission and “maker-space”day.
A Radio Controlled aircraft instructional “Build and Fly”
An Estes model rocketry instructional “Build and Fly”"
Lessons in Aviation fundamentals and a tour of Pueblo Weisbrod Aviation Museum and the Air Force Flight training operation at Pueblo Memorial Airport
Basic flotation principals and buoyancy activities along with underwater drone “build and dive” challenge.
Real-world NASA research on astronaut nutrition and cultivating plants in space with the Fairchild Challenge Growing Beyond Earth program
Schedule:
Students will start the year with a one week “aero camp,” meet about twice a month on Wednesdays from 9:00- 3:00 pm for class/lab days and field trips throughout the school year, and wrap up the year with a one week “space camp.”

STEAM PROGRAM- LAS ANIMAS & ROCKY FORD
Students are introduced to aerospace and aviation concepts and experience flight in hot air balloon, airplane, helicopter and vertical wind tunnel. To meet the needs of our community, science and art are also included in our weekly class time. Speakers are brought in to teach about various topics.

Guests have included: A Meteorologist, a Space expert, an Olympian, a Chemist, a Doctor, and an Astronaut.
Field trips have included visits to Las Animas Light and Power, Pueblo Airport Control Tower and Weisbrod Museum, Challenger Learning Center, Wings Over the Rockies, iFLY, Denver Mint, Denver Capital, USAFA, Innovative Water Technologies, Cheyenne Mountain Zoo, Great Sand Dunes National Park, John Martin Reservoir.

Las Animas- classes will meet Fridays from 8:30-2:30pm throughout the school year.
Rocky Ford- classes will meet Tuesdays from 9:00-3:00pm throughout the school year.
Leadville- classes will meet Thursdays from 9:30-3:30pm throughout the school year.
